The Wits choir made a day visit to the community of Tancacha in the province of Córdoba. They departed from Villa María in the early morning and returned late that same evening. During the stay there, beside their performance they had time to walk around and get to know the place.
The reception in Tancacha started at the Municipality, where the Mayor and local authorities welcomed the group. The welcome included the presentation of the Municipal Decree declaring the Wits choir "Guests of Honor". The reception ceremony was transmitted live on the local radio station and the visiting choir sung a couple of songs and invited the Mayor and authorities dance with them.

Immediately afterwards, the Mayor himself guided a walking tour throughout the town taking the Wits members to the main square, the bank, post office, railway station, and local schools.

The group then went back to the municipality building where local families were awaiting the South African visitors to take them to their homes for lunch. It was a bright idea that gave the opportunity to the local inhabitants the possibility to interact with another culture in a more personal manner, rather than having only stage-audience contact. After lunch they had some time at the host families to rest, get to know each other or walk around once again. The afternoon also included a visit to the Soy Bean oil factory Bunge and a guided explanation of its facilities.

It was only at around sunset, about seven in the afternoon, that the choir of the Witwatersrand University met together again for rehearsal and warming up before the show. The festive event in Tancacha also included a folkloric presentation from a local group before the Wits performance. Everyone enjoyed the show, specially the children seated in the very first row, very close to the stage.

After the show and the evaluation meeting, the choir was invited for dinner and then it was time to thank the local organizers for a wonderful day and return to rest at the hotel in Villa María.
