The city of Villa del Rosario was the home for Wits Choir for the period Sunday the 31st of August to Thursday the 4th of September. Here the host families, Municipal Authorities and the Community made everyone feel at home. They were five wonderful days spent with great life-time friends.

We all arrived at Villa del Rosario some time before midday. The Secretary of Goverment and the host families were waiting in the Municipality where the distribution of students to their respective host families took place. As always, this was a very exiting and interesting experience. After the meeting between host families and Wits Choir members, everyone went home for lunch a short "siesta".

Later in the afternoon, the choir met again at the Municipality of Villa del Rosario to warm up and rehearse before the evening performance at the local Cathedral. When "showtime" arrived, the choir walked through the main square and came into the Cathedral singing. The audience was delighted and enjoyed every minute of their performance and the presence of the South African Choir. After a number of encores, it was time to go back home and get some rest for next day.

On Monday morning, a "Tango" workshop was offered to the Wits choir by the Villa del Rosario Municipality. For a period of about two hours the visitors learnt about the history, music and dance of tango. Of course; - the most interesting was learning how to dance it. Everyone had to give it a chance, there they realized that it is not as easy as it looks - but everyone enjoyed the morning.

After lunch the choir went to Córdoba for the city tour and performance at Patio Olmos - La Voz del Interior. The next day the departure to Córdoba was before lunch and the choir had a free afternoon in the city to do some shopping and later on to provide the performance at "Iglesia del Pilar" followed by a TCEF dinner in Solar de Tejeda. A late return to Villa del Rosario was the reason that some of the members of the Wits choir were taken home in a police car, - graciously provided by the local Police station in support of the Tour, and mainly because the majority of their hosts were already sleeping. On Wednesday the performance took place in the city of Pilar.

Thursday the 4th was the last day in Villa del Rosario. After lunch the community bade farewell to the choir with a "Folklore" workshop. Some Malambo, Chacarera and Samba dances were performed by the local ballet and then practiced by the choir members. After the workshop the five great days in Villa del Rosario were over.
