At the forefront of educational development

St Alban's was built on a dream Every noble endeavour is based on a dream. but few dreams could have been as fantastic as that which prompted our founding fathers to establish a school in the veld outside Pretoria. They were so lacking in material means that they were obliged to rely on resources of spirit and determination to win through.

The school came into being on 1 February 1963 with 37 students and three masters. At the helm was Springbok cricketer, Anton Murray, who for the next twenty years devoted himself to his task with initiative, resourcefulness and hard work. Today our numbers have grown to 500 - our full complement - and close on 40 teaching staff, now under its dynamic fifth head, Tom Hamilton.

To the achievements of the past we daily add new successes. But this leaves no room for complacency. An established school that wishes to offer a quality product must be vigorously competitive. This realization has acted as a spur to massive developments and put St Alban's at the forefront of educational initiative.
