Once again TCEF visited Las Rosas, this time to participate in the 45th
Annual Choir Festival with the Barbershop Boys from Pretoria, South
Africa. The arrival was at the Cultural house where they had the
official reception with the local authorities. Following a very warm
reception, they went home with their host families to relax and enjoy
some quality time with them.
The next day, the activities started at 10 in the morning on a city
tour, where they visited the church, municipal buildings, schools and
parks. They then had some free time with their hosts and returned to
their homes until it was time to go to the theatre to prepare for their
practice and performance.
That night was the 45th Annual Choir Festival of Las Rosas. First, the
ECA choir from this city performed; then, it was time for the Youth
Choir of Rosario; and finally the Barbershop Boys performed. After the
show the choirs went for dinner together and had a wonderful time in an
impromptu dancing and singing exchange with those at the dinner.
The following morning they visited an agricultural school in Bouquet
where they sang for the primary school students and then they interacted
and had lunch together with them. Back in the city of Las Rosas they
were invited to participate in the anniversary of the Police Station
where Ntsako, James and Mfundo held the South African flag and the
Barbershop Boys presented the South African National Anthem.
The students with the staff members of St. Alban's College also went to
a Argentine Traditional Music and Dance Academy where they learnt about
the academy's activities and enjoyed a show especially prepared for
them. Finally, the Mayor of Las Rosas declared the Barbershop Choir
'Citizens of Honor' and awarded each one of them with a commemorative
Argentine flag.
The following day, after lunch, they departed from Las Rosas en route to
Arrecífes in the Province of Buenos Aires.
