Oncativo

On Saturday afternoon, Simply Blue was invited by the Municipality of Oncativo to open the local festival "Diciembre de Muestra" (December Exhibitions). This festival has been going on for thirteen years now, and provides the local population the chance to enjoy performances for nine evenings of international artists who present top quality shows. This festival is also broadcast live throughout the Cordoba province.

After one hour on a bus traveling from the city of Cordoba, the choir from Bishop's College arrived to the Municipality of Oncativo and went directly to the stage for a sound check. They then met the Mayor Osvaldo Vottero and Senator Francisco Fortuna who officially welcomed Simply Blue to the city.

Following this meeting with the Senator and Mayor, they walked to the Municipal Kindergarten where Dora Rodriguez, its Director, received the group and offered a sumptuous and delicious dinner to the touring group. They decorated the place with welcome notes and the usual cordiality we always receive from them in each of our visits to Oncativo.

As soon as dinner was over, the choir members got ready to perform and walked back to the stage. After the introductory speeches given by Mayor Vottero and Senator Fortuna giving the official opening of the Festival, the Argentine National Anthem was performed and then, Simply Blue made their appearance on an open stage to an audience of approximately one thousand spectators.

After their performance and many ovations, everyone boarded our faithful bus and about an hour later they were back in Cordoba city where the host families from Collegium College were patiently waiting for them.
