Buenos Aires

One hour and fifty minutes after their departure from Mendoza, the 44 strong member group from the St. Mary´s DSG school of Pretoria, South Africa, arrived to the city of Buenos Aires, our last stop of the sporting tour. The girls enjoyed the flying time making friends with players of a professional soccer team who were also on board the same flight.

The first activity in Buenos Aires was the visit to Piazzolla Tango, where an exclusive tango show was performed for the touring group. The show was accompanied by a very delicious lunch. After the show & lunch they walked Florida street (a very traditional comercial area of Buenos Aires) and visited Galerias Pacífico Shopping Mall for a couple of hours before going to St. Alban´s College Buenos Aires, our hosts in this city.

On arrival to the St. Alban´s College in Lomas de Zamora neighbourhood, the school authorities gave a very kind words of welcome to the group and after this, each girl left to ther last host family on tour. The staff members from both school had some snacks and drinks together before the DSG´s teachers retired to their hotel for the evening.

The following day was dedicated for the sporting matches for the last time on tour. The hockey teams started the day in the morning at the local school´s sports campus. There they played two matches and after then enjoyed some "lomitos" with their local hosts. Then, the activity continued at the tennis courts, where a Davis Cup style competition took place between both schools. The last sport event on tour was performed by the bascketball team at Club Atletico Lanus. That marked the end of the group activities iof the St. Mary´s DSG Tour TCEF Argentina 2005.

The following day, bright and early,  a small group of 15 students and staff memebers departed to the Iguazu Water Falls on a three day tour to the northeast of Argentina. The rest of the group remained in Buenos Aires for a few more hours until it was their time to go to the Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires and take a plane that would take them back home after a very exciting and unforgettable tour.

The Tour St. Mary´s DSG TCEF Argentina 2005 was over. It was a great experience for everyone invloved and we would like to take this opportunity to thank every one who, - in on way or another, - made this tour possible.
