Thanks to the collaboration of Mayor Osvaldo Vottero and his Assistant,
Dora Rodriguez, the recently refurbished La Victoria Theatre was
completed just in time for the performance of the TransOranje School for
the Deaf's 'My African Dream' performance before the community of
Oncativo, Province of Cordoba, Argentina.
This quaint old theatre built in the traditional Spanish Colonial style,
with individual balconies overlooking the stage for privileged guests,
plus an auditorium for the audience was an astoundingly beautiful
theatre for the performance. After a brief sound test monitored by
Andre, adjustments were made, and the show was on!
Again, the audience was thrilled with the performance and many encores
were called for, plus audience collaboration and participation in a
number of the songs. Standing OvationsEE
Comments received from the audience after the show indicated that they
had had a 'life changing' experience thanks to the quality, expression
and depth of the message transmitted by the Cast during the show. We
hope that interest in learning about deaf culture and an awareness
campaign will develop in the Community and surrounding area as a result
of this inspiring visit. After the show, everyone returned to Villa
Maria for the night at the President Hotel.
