A 'recovery from Jet-Lag' day was had by all of the 'My African Dream'
Staff, Artists and Choir Members where they had the opportunity to get
the 'feel' of their new surroundings in Argentina. After a late sleep
in, window shopping and walking around the city of Pergamino, all met up
at 'Café Juarez' for lunch where a Pizza, Argentine Style, was enjoyed
by all. At the request of the Café owners who were somewhat taken aback
by the presence of so many foreigners all enthusiastically communicating
in sign Language, all with happy smiles and a wonderful disposition, the
cast put on a 'special' preview for locals present at the Café on the
show that they were going to seen later on that week. Amongst applause,
wonder and amazement, Café Juarez became our meeting place for the
entire time in Pergamino, where we were always extremely well received.
Rian Swanepoel and Andre van Dyk seemed to enjoy the Argentine cuisine
and found out about many new ways in which the Argentines prepare their
beef, and as such visited many restaurants accompanied by TCEF
president, Duncan Chase.
We visited another Pizza 'palace' in Pergamino and fortunately it was an
'all you can eat' type of Restaurant, so many choir members with hollow
legs feasted like it was their last meal. Needless to say, many happy
smiles and bloated gaits managed to make their way to the bus
afterwards.
